Gregg Lobdell took this photo over the Christmas holiday. We have a excellent base of snow, 18", we just need a good blast of powder!

We are ready for ski season!

Don't forget there is still time to enroll in the Telemark Class if you want to improve, or learn a new skill. Classes start this Wed. Jan 12!

The snow has finally started to come and although it's late it is starting to pile up. All the ski areas are open and the famous WAC telemark ski program starts on Wed. 01/12 !

Guye Cabin is a great place to go in to warm up after a day snowshoeing, skiing, boarding, or just some winter fun!

Everyone in the WAC has got their Skis and Boards tuned, waxed and ready to go!

Many folks in our club always sport the latest and greatest models.

When you come up be very nice to everyone in the parking area. Currently we only have parking by the grace of the neighbors. Hopefully next winter we'll have our own parking area completed!

Guye Cabin fees are only $10.00 per night per person (which includes two days), or $4.00 for day use. Kids under 13 are free! There is no parking fee at this time. There is also a very cheap day use fee.

Sweater's are in on the slopes this year!

As usual, WAC'ers spend more time talking about how to improve technique than they do actually coming down the hill!

All Cabin fees go back into providing electricity, water, and heat for the cabin. As well as maintenance and improvements! There is zero admin overhead.

Just by being in the WAC makes everyone a better skier or boarder!

Although ski jumps aren't as popular as they used to be, there is still one at Leavenworth.

WAC skiers always show great form whether it is off the ski jump, in the backcountry, or on the groomed runs!

The Washington Alpine Club has three great classes starting now or very soon!

Telemark Skiing
Winter Backcountry
Basic Climbing

Interested? Check the WAC website and sign up! You'll meet lots of great people, learn a new discipline, and have fun! Many WAC members join in their 20's and remain members for the rest of their lives!

Bring on the snow!!!!

Mike Brown and his family were up over Christmas. Mike is trying out the brand spanking new Weber Grill donated to the Cabin by Nick and Stephanie Nichols!

Look at that turkey! Yum!

The weather is always great at Snoqualmie Pass! Well, usually!

Want to get signed off to open or close Guye Cabin on your own?
It's easy! Just volunteer at least one full day in some capacity for the Club! This could include participating in a Cabin Work Party, being an instructor for the climbing class, serving on the WAC Board, or as Conservation Chair or First Aid Chair.

A group effort always makes kitchen duty fun and fast!

Mike Brown and family.

Guye Cabin was originally built in 1932 by a bunch of volunteers just like us. Several additions were built over the years. The work has always been done by work parties of Club members! We are working hard to make sure that maintenance and needed repairs are done to keep the Cabin in top condition. Our Cabin deserves our respect and care! Remember, 2007 is the 75th anniversary of Guye Cabin!

When you visit the Cabin:

Don't forget to sign in the Cabin Log Book! This is a historical record of the Cabin and it is fun to look back and see the work parties of years past!

Pay your Cabin fees.

Also, introduce yourself to everyone, relax, enjoy some fellowship, and have a great time!
